Cypress Provincial Park is a 3,012 hectare provincial park located in North Vancouver B.C. and offers tons of fun hiking opportunities for you and your pup all year round. Some activities you can take part in while visiting this provincial park are hiking, wildlife viewing, cycling, wilderness viewing, camping. You can also take advantage of some picnic tables with barbecue attachments for a nice family barbecue. Most of the trails are dog friendly as long as your dog is kept on the leash at all times. Yew Lake Trail is one trail that does not allow dogs due to the sensitive marsh ecosystem on that trail; seeing eye dogs however are welcome on this trail.

The southern section of the park is accessible by road but the 9 km northern section is only accessible by hiking trails. The trails do vary quite a bit in length and elevation so make sure you do your research and find out which trail is the best for you and your pup. There are also winter hiking trails that are great for snowshoeing or just a nice winter hike. These trails are located in the backcountry area and are not patrolled so you will be responsible for your own safety as well as your dog’s safety. So make sure you have some emergency or first aid equipment with you just in case. Make sure you and your pup are properly dressed for the weather and you should be good to go! There are no dog amenities on the trails so pack some essentials that you think your and your dog might need.
